Doğuda baharı, batıda ise sonbaharı simgeler. Sarayın batı kapısıYeongchunmun (Hoş geldin Sonbahar Kapısı) adını almıştır. Geçmişte bir dere bu kapıdan dışarıya taşmıştı ama kapatıldı ve şimdi görülmemektedir.
