Kim'in Kabinesi Batili ülkeler ve Japonya ile diplomatik ve ticari iliskileri gelistirirken kraliyet hanedani kargasali 19. yüzyilda komsu ülkelerin yarimadayi kontrol altina alma girisimleri arasinda kaldi.
>> A government installed by Japan, which was seeking to colonize Korea towards the end of the Joseon Dynasty, issues an order for all Korean men to cut their hair. The government's top official Kim Hong-jip said the traditional style of long hair in a topknot was an outdated custom of Confucian society that should be ended for the country's development.

Kim's Cabinet promoted diplomatic and trade relations with Japan and Western countries while the royal dynasty was caught between neighboring countries that tried to control the peninsula in the tumultuous 19th century.

>> Japonya'nin 1910-45 Kore Yarimadasi'ni sömürgelestirmesine neden olan "Protektora (Himaye) Anlasmasi" Japonya ile Joseon Hanedanligi (1392-1910) arasinda imzalandi. Kore imparatoru Kojong'un karsi çikmasina ragmen anlasma yürürlüge girmis ve Kore'de hanedanliklar dönemi sona ermistir.

Anlasmayla Kore'nin uluslararasi anlasmalar imzalama hakki elinden alindi ve bütün diplomatik iliskileri yönetmesi için yarimadaya bir Japon genel valisi atandi.
>> Japan signs a "Protectorate Treaty" with Korea's Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), which led to Japan's 1910-45 colonization of the Korean Peninsula. The treaty was enforced despite opposition from the Korean emperor Kojong and ended the era of ruling dynasties in Korea.

The treaty stripped Korea of its rights to sign international agreements, and a Japanese resident-general was dispatched to the peninsula to take charge of all diplomatic relations.
