1930 Mançurya'da oturmakta olan etnik Koreliler Japonya’nın Kore'deki kolonizasyınuna karşı bir ayaklanma başlattılar.

1975 -- Güney Kore Ordusu, Kore sınırına güvenlik amaçlı yapılan duvarın inşasını bitirdi.

1995 -- Güney Koreli bir balıkçı teknesine, Sarı Deniz'de sınırı geçtiği için Kuzey Kore Deniz Kuvvetleri tarafından ateş açıldı. Sekiz kişiden üçü öldü, diğerleri de esir alındı ve o yılın Aralık ayında tahliye edilene kadar Kuzey Kore’de tutuldu.

2008 -- Güney Kore Başkanı Lee Myung-bak, Çin'in deprem mağduru bölgesi Sichuan Eyaleti'ni ziyaret ederek öngörülmemiş doğal afetten zarar gören Çinlilere taziyelerini iletti.

1930 -- Ethnic Koreans residing in Manchuria carry out an uprising against Japan's colonization of Korea.

1975 -- The South Korean Army completes construction of a defensive wall along the inter-Korean border.

1995 -- A South Korean fishing vessel is fired upon by the North Korean navy in the Yellow Sea. Three out of the eight crewmen died from the gunfire, and the others were taken prisoner and held by the North until their release in December that year.

2008 -- South Korean President Lee Myung-bak visits China's earthquake-devastated Sichuan Province to deliver his condolences to the Chinese people suffering from the unprecedented natural disaster.

1886 -- Ehwa Kadın Üniversitesi, Metodist Kilisesi'nden Amerikan bir misyoner olan Mary Scranton'un insiyatifiyle kuruldu. Okulun ismi, Ehwa, Koreli hükümdar Gojong tarafından verildi.

1895 -- Hükümdar Gojong; daha önce yalnızca Çince yazılan resmi belgelerin yazımında Korece kullanılması için emir verdi.

1948 -- Kuzey Kore'den ayrı olarak senenin başlarında kurulan Güney Kore'nin Ulusal Meclis'i, işk sözcüsü olarak Rhee Syng-man'ı atadı. Rhee, o yıl Temmuz ayında Güney Kore'nin ilk başkanı oldu.

1996 -- Dünya futbol yönetim kurulu, FIFA, Güney Kore ve Japonya'yı 2002 Dünya Kupası'nın ev sahipleri olarak belirledi.

1998 -- Kuzey Kore ve ABD, iyiniyet gösterisi olarak Pyongyang'ta bir basketbol maçı yaptılar.

2014 -- Güney Kore; 4 Haziran seçimleri için verilen iki günlük önceden oylama süresi içerisinde ülke genelinde 4.74 milyondan fazla Güney Korelinin oy vermesiyle kendi önceden oylama için en çok oyveren rekorunu kırdı.

1886 -- Ewha Womans University is established in Seoul on the initiative of Mary Scranton, an American missionary from the Methodist Episcopal Church. The school's name, Ehwa, was bestowed by Korean Emperor Gojong.

1895 -- Emperor Gojong issues an order to use the Korean language for official documents, which were previously written only in Chinese.

1948 -- The National Assembly of southern Korea, established earlier that year separately from northern Korea, appoints Rhee Syng-man as its first speaker. Rhee became South Korea's first president in July that year.

1996 -- The world's football governing body, FIFA, names South Korea and Japan co-hosts of the 2002 World Cup.

1998 -- North Korea and the United States hold a goodwill basketball game in Pyongyang.

2014 -- South Korea records its highest voter turnout for advance voting, with more than 4.74 million South Koreans going to polling stations across the country to participate in the two-day advance voting period for the June 4 local elections.
