Joseon Hanedanı kralı Sejong tarafından icat edilen Kore alfabesinin, ya da Hangulun, 572. yılı dolayısı ile düzenlenen ulusal seremoni sırasında Lee Nak-yeon'ın açıklaması şu şekildeydi; "Devlet, dünkü Kabine toplantısı sırasında BTS'ye Hwagan madalyası vermeye karar verdi".

"The government decided during a Cabinet meeting yesterday to award a Hwagan medal to the proud BTS," Lee Nak-yeon said at a national ceremony here to mark the 572nd birthday of the Korean alphabet, or Hangul, which was invented by King Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty.
"Hangul is not just a writing system used only by Koreans. There are King Sejong Institute centers for teaching the Korean language at 174 locations in 57 countries around the world as of this year," Lee said. "Young people around the world write down the lyrics of BTS songs in Hangul."
During the Cabinet meeting presided over by President Moon Jae-in, the prime minister praised the band, saying that they have contributed to spreading not only "hallyu" but also Hangul.
The seven-piece group topped the Billboard 200 main albums chart twice in a year recently with its two new "Love Yourself" albums, an achievement pulled off only by British-Irish band One Direction a few years ago. Last month, it became the first-ever K-pop group to speak at the United Nations, telling the world's youth to listen to their inner voices and resist the pressure to conform.

K-pop boy band BTS has become the first group of South Korean musicians to win an American Music Award(AMA).
The group's management agency Big Hit Entertainment said Wednesday the seven-member act received the Favorite Social Artist award at the 2018 AMAs held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles Tuesday.
BTS beat out some of the big names in the music industry such as Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Shawn Mendes.
The band, who are currently in London as part of their world tour, accepted the award through a video message, expressing thanks for the honor and support from their fan club known as the Army.
The AMAs are generally considered one of three leading music awards in the U.S. alongside the Billboard and Grammy awards.
BTS received the Top Social Artist Award at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards in May.

Veteran K-pop diva BoA will drop her ninth full-length album later this month, her management agency said Tuesday.
The new 10-track album, "Woman," will be released on Oct. 24. It is scheduled to be released in CD format the next day.
The title track is pop dance number with rhythmical bass and vibrant synth sounds in harmony with BoA's bright voice, according to SM Entertainment.
The 32-year-old singer's lyrics display female confidence and she gives the song a signature powerful performance.
This will be BoA's first release since her EP "One Shot, Two Shot," a collection of various genres including hip hop.

K-pop sensation BTS' repackaged album "Love Yourself: Answer" ranked at No. 31 on the Billboard's main albums chart, data showed Wednesday.
Previously taking No. 25, the album has now been on the Billboard 200 for seven weeks since it debuted atop on its release on Aug. 24.
Along with the solid performance on the main chart, it was No. 1 on the "Top World Albums" chart, placed sixth on the "Independent Albums" chart and sixth on the "Top Album Sales" chart.
The group's previous albums are also enjoying popularity: "Love Yourself: Tear," released in May, came in second on the "Top World Albums" chart, while "Love Yourself: Her," which was out in September last year, took the No. 3 spot on the "World Albums" chart.
BTS also claimed the top spot on the Billboard Social 50 chart for the week, continuing its winning streak for an unprecedented 66 weeks. It placed seventh, down three notches from the previous week, on the Billboard Artist 100 chart.

The repackaged album came in 50th on the Billboard 200 chart this week, down from last week's 27th. It debuted atop the list in September.
The septet also remained on top of the Social 50 chart for the 68th week in a row.
Also this week, "mono.," a new solo album by BTS leader RM, landed in the 26th spot of the Billboard 200 albums chart, the highest ever by a South Korean solo singer, according to BTS' management agency, Big Hit Entertainment.
Next month, BTS will resume its world stage tour with the Japanese leg, which will kick off Nov. 13 at Tokyo Dome and take them to Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.

K-pop girl group BLACKPINK will go on its first global tour starting in Seoul this month, its agency, YG Entertainment, said Thursday.
After its Seoul concerts on Nov. 10 and 11, the four-member act will perform in Bangkok on Jan. 12 and 13, in Jakarta on Jan. 20, in Hong Kong on Jan. 26, in Manila on Feb. 2, in Singapore on Feb. 15, in Kuala Lumpur on Feb. 23 and in Taipei on March 3.
The agency said there will be more to come after Taipei, hinting only that the tour will expand into other continents.
The group, which debuted in 2016, has recently signed a partnership deal with the American record label Interscope Records under Universal Music Group, which will help the foursome enter the U.S. market. Interscope has published such high-profile American artists as Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Maroon 5 and Lady Gaga.
Separately, BLACKPINK's members are scheduled to release solo songs. First will be Jennie, whose "Solo" is set to be released Nov. 12.

EXO has made their much-anticipated return!
On November 2 at 6 p.m. KST, EXO released their fifth studio album “Don’t Mess Up My Tempo,” along with the music video for its title track “Tempo.”
“Tempo” was written by JQ, PENOMECO, and Yoo Young Jin and composed by Jamil “Digi” Chammas, Leven Kali, Tay Jasper, Adrian Mckinnon, and MZMC.
The hip hop/dance track contains an intense bass line and rhythmic drum sound, and matches well with the EXO members’ a capella vocals. In the lyrics, the love interest is compared to the melody of music, and the members warn others not to interfere with their unique tempo.
