13 Subat 2000 -- Güney Koreli maraton kosucusu Lee Bong-ju, Tokyo Marathonu'nda 2 saat, 7 dakika ve 20 saniyelik yeni bir Güney Kore rekoru kirmistir.

February 13, 1969 -- The Korea Central Intelligence Agency announces its arrest of Lee Su-geun, a North Korean spy who entered South Korea posing as a defector in 1967. Lee was executed on July 3, 1969.

February 13, 2000 -- South Korean marathon runner Lee Bong-ju sets a new South Korean record of 2 hours, 7 minutes and 20 seconds at the Tokyo Marathon.

14 Subat 1910 -- Geçen yilin ocak ayinda Japon Genel Valisi Hirobumi Ito'ya suikast düzenleyen Kore bagimsizlik savasçisi An Jung-geun idama mahkum edilmistir.

14 Subat 1970 -- Askerden arindirilmis Panmunjom Köyü üzerinden Güney Kore'ye dönmekte olan Korean Air'e ait 39 yolcusu olan bir uçak, Kuzey Kore tarafindan kaçirilmistir. Kuzey Kore, pilot da dahil 12 mürettebati hâlâ elinde tutmaktadir.

14 Subat 2003 -- Kim Dae-jung, Haziran 2000 zirvesinden önce Kuzey Kore'ye yapilan Hyundai'nin fon transferi (500 milyon dolar, güvenlik danismani Lim Dong-won dogrulamistir) konusunda özür dilemistir.

February 14, 1910 -- Korean independence fighter An Jung-geun is sentenced to death for the assassination of Japanese Governor-General Hirobumi Ito in October of the preceding year.

February 14, 1970 -- Thirty-nine passengers from a Korean Air aircraft hijacked by North Korea some two months earlier return to South Korea via the truce village of Panmunjom. North Korea still holds 12 crew members, including the pilot.

February 14, 2003 -- Kim Dae-jung apologizes regarding Hyundai’s transfer of funds ($500 mllion, his security adviser Lim Dong-won confirms) to North Korea just before the June 2000 summit.

2001 -- The Ministry of Justice grants refugee status to an Ethiopian seeking asylum in the country, marking the first time for South Korea to grant refugee status.


2004 -- The National Assembly approves a government proposal to send an additional 3,000 troops to help rebuild war-torn Iraq. About 3,600 South Korean troops were sent to northern Iraq, making up the largest foreign contingent in the Middle Eastern country after those of the United States and Britain.

15 Subat 1962 -- Güney Kore ile Arjantin diplomatik iliskiler kurmustur.

15 Subat 1994 -- Kuzey Kore, yedi nükleer tesisinde Uluslararasi Atom Enerjisi Kurumu tarafindan denetim yapilmasini kabul etmistir.

15 Subat 1997 -- Kuzey Koreli lider Kim Jong-il'in ayrildigi esi Sung Hae-rim'in erkek yegeni olan Lee Han-young, Güney'e sigindiktan 15 yil sonra Seoul'un disinda kendi apartman dairesinde vurulmustur. February 15, 1894 -- Farmers and other working-class people rise up against corrupt bureaucrats in the southwestern area of the Korean Peninsula, triggering the nationwide "Donghak" movement.

The Joseon Dynasty brutally suppressed the uprising with the help of the Chinese and Japanese militaries.

February 15, 1962 -- South Korea and Argentina establish diplomatic ties.

February 15, 1994 -- North Korea accepts inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency at its seven nuclear facilities.

February 15, 1997 -- Lee Han-young, nephew of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il's estranged wife Sung Hae-rim, is shot at his apartment outside Seoul, 15 years after he defected to the capitalist South. Investigators suspected that Lee, who died 10 days later, was the target of an assassination attempt by North Korean agents.
