Icheon, Güney Kore – Gyeonggi Eyaleti’nde yer alan bir şehirdir. Burası, daha büyük bir kent olan Incheon ile karıştırılmamalıdır. Komşuları arasında Gyeonggi Eyaleti’ndeki Yeoju ilçesi, Gwangju, Yongin ve Anseong şehirleri ile Kuzey Chungcheong Eyaleti’ndeki Eumseong ilçesi yer almaktadır. Yeoju ile birlikte Icheon, Güney Kore’nin seramik üretim merkezi olarak bilinmektedir. Diğer meşhur yerel ürünleri şeftali ve pirinçtir.
Yüksek öğrenim veren yerel enstitüler ise Kore Turizm Koleji ve Chungkang Kültür Endüstrileri Koleji’dir. Yeongdong Otoyolu ve Jungbu Naeryuk Otoyolu, Icheon aracılığı ile geçmektedir.
Icheon, dünyanın en büyük ikinci bellek yongası üreticisi olan Hynix’e ev sahipliği yapmaktadır.

Introduction

Icheon is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It should not be confused with the much larger Incheon Metropolitan City. Neighboring districts include Yeoju County, Gwangju City, Yongin City, and Anseong City within Gyeonggi Province, as well as Eumseong County in North Chungcheong Province. Together with Yeoju, Icheon is known as a center of South Korean ceramic manufacture. Other famous local products include peaches and rice. Local institutions of higher learning include Korea Tourism College and Chungkang College of Cultural Industries.
The Yeongdong Expressway and Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway pass through Icheon. Icheon is home to Hynix, the world's second largest memory chip maker.

Seramik Köyleri


Icheon Seramik Köyü, Saeum-dong, Sindun-myeon, Sugwang-ri alanındaki seramik üreten 300 firmayı içermektedir. Onlar, geleneksel becerileri kullanmaktadırlar ve 40 adet odun fırınında porselen üretmektedirler. Bu çömlek imalathanesi, hem yurtiçinde hem de yurtdışında kalitesi ile tanınmaktadır.

Saeum-dong ve Sindun-myeon alanları, seramik köyü ile birlikte çok fazla seramik mağazası da içermektedir. Çömlekçiler, Joseon beyaz porseleninin ve Goryeo seladonunun tarzındaki yapımını yeniden canlandırmışlardır ve geleneksel metotları araştırmışlardır. Bu köy, Geleneğin korunması için harcanan çabanın bir merkezidir.

Ceramic Villages

The Icheon Ceramics Village features 300-plus ceramics-making firms in the area of Sugwang-ri, Sindun-myeon, Saeum-dong. They use traditional skills and produce porcelains in some 40 traditional firewood kilns. This pottery is recognized both at home and abroad for its quality.

The Saeum-dong and Sindun-myeon areas also include a ceramics village with many ceramics stores. Potters have researched traditional methods and revived the manufacture of ceramics in the style of Goryeo celadon and Joseon white porcelain here. The village is the center of the effort to preserve these traditions.
