Hur Jae (28 Eylül Chuncheon diğerleri) 1980'lerin gelen orta 2000'li için yarıştı Güney Koreli basketbol oyuncu 1965 doğumlu. 1988 Seul Yaz Olimpiyatları'nda hentbol oyuncu Shon Mi ile olimpiyat madalyası aldı.
Jae, iyi bir eğitim gördü. 1978'de Sangmyung İlkokuluna, 1981'de Yongsan ortaokuluna ve 1984 yılında Yongsan lisesine gitti. 1988'de Chungang üniversitesini bitirdi. O yıl Kia Motors'un amatör basketbol takımına katıldı. O, takımını 1988'den 1993'e kadar 5 yıl ve 1995-1996 yıllarında iki kez şampiyon yaptı. O, MVP'nin 'En değerli Oyuncu' ödülünü 3 kez kazandı. Daha sonra profesyonel lige girdikten sonra 1997-1998 yıllarında iki kez daha aynı ödülü kazandı.
1991 yılında Hundai'ye karşı yaptığı şampiyonluk maçında kötü bir olaya karıştı. İlk yarıda o, hundai takımının oyuncusu Im dal-sik'e dirsek darbesi yaptı. Hur Jae, rakibini itti rakibi de buna Jae'nin sağ eline vurarak karşılık verdi. Her iki oyuncuda oyundan çıkarıldıktan sonra Hur Jae, Im Dal'e tekrar vurdu. Hur Jae'nin çenesi kırıldı ve iyileşmesi 3 ay aldı. Her iki oyuncuda bu hareketlerinden dolayı 6 ay uzaklaştırma aldı.
Daha sonra Jae, 2004 Nisanında emekliye ayrıldı. Jae ayrıca iki Yaz olimpiyatına katıldı ve 1998'deki Seul yaz olimpiyatını en iyi 9 oyuncu içerisinde bitirdi.

Hur Jae (born September 28, 1965 in Chuncheon) is a South Korean basketball player who competed from the late 1980s to the mid 2000s. At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, he took the Athlete's Oath with team handball player Shon Mi-Na.
Jae had graduated from the elite course. His graduations were Sangmyung primary school in 1978, Yongsan Middle School in 1981, Yongsan High School in 1984, Chung-Ang University in 1988. At that year, he joined the Amateur basketball team of Kia Motors. He led his team the champion straight five years(1988–1993) and straight two years(1995–1996), and he won the Most Valuable Player; MVP three times. After foundation of the Professional league, he won the MVP in 1997-1998.
In March 3, 1991, Hur Jae was involved in an infamous brawl during a championship match against Hyundai. Early in the first half, Hur Jae was elbowed by Hyundai's Im Dal-sik. Hur Jae furiously approached Im Dal-sik, pushing him in the head, and Im Dal-sik responded by hitting Hur Jae with a right hand. After both players were ejected, Hur Jae confronted Im Dal-sik again, and Im Dal-sik's teammate, Kim Sung Wook connected with a thunderous tiger uppercut to Hur Jae's jaw. Hur Jae suffered a fractured jaw which took 3 months to heal. Both Hur Jae and Im Dal-sik were suspended for 6 months and Kim Sung Wook was suspended for 3 months following the incident.
Then he retired on April, 2004. His team TG Xers made his number nine the retired number for the first time of team's history.
Jae also competed in two Summer Olympics, earning his best finish of ninth in men's team event at Seoul in 1988.
In 1990, Jae set the record for most points in a FIBA World Championship match, a record that still stands to this day, scoring 60 vs. Egypt in a 117-115 victory for 15th place.
Currently, he is the head coach of Jeonju KCC Egis since June 2005 and the Korean National Team
