Bu açık yeşil tütsü kabı Goryeo Krallığı döneminde (MS 12) yapılmış ağız çapı 16,3 cm, yüksekliğide 21,2 cm'dir. Bu tütsü, yakmalık bir kap ve aslan şekilli bir kapaktan oluşmaktadır. Oyulmuş hayvan süsleri ve yüzeyinde ince çizgiler halinde bulut tasarımları olan kabı üç tane ayak desteklemektedir. Üç ayrı ağız çevresinde de bulut tasarımları bulunmaktadır. Çiçek tasarımlı bir kapak ve bir kaide üzerine oturan aslan figürü vardır.
Aslan, görsel bir etki yaratması amacıyla, kaidenin sol tarafında durmaktadır. Sağ ön bacağı bükülmüş ve ağzı açık bir şekilde ileriye doğru bakan aslanın siyah nokta şeklinde gözleri vardır. Boynundan alt tarafına kadar olan yelesi, girdap şeklinde dönen süslemelerle ifade edilmiştir. Koyu olan parlak yüzeyi, soluk yeşilimsi mavidir. Bu tütsü, aslanın vücudunda bulunan alevi ağzından dışarı püskürtebilecek şekilde biçimlendirilmiştir.
Onun bu biçimsel güzelliği, Goryeo seladon tütsü brünün farklı bir tarzını göstermektedir. İyi varlıkların arayışıyla biçimlendirilen bu tür porselen, cilalı Çin porseleniyle Goryeo porseleninin doruk noktası olan on ikinci yüzyıl dolaylarına popüler olmuştur. This celadon incense burner was made during the Goryeo Kingdom (AD 12th), and it is 21.2 cm high, 16.3 cm in rim diameter. It consists of the container, in which incense is burnt, and the lion-shaped lid. Three feet with engraved animal ornaments support the container, on the surface of which cloud designs are incised with thin lines. The cloud patterns are also applied to three other places around the rim. The lid is molded into a lion sitting on a pedestal with floral designs.
The lion is put on the left side of the pedestal to produce a distinctive visual effect. The lion stands looking ahead with its right foreleg bent and mouth open, and its pupils are dotted in black. Its mane covering the back of the neck and the rump is expressed with carved vortex decorations. The glaze is pale greenish blue with the deep, lustrous color. It is constructed to allow incense flame to be belched form the mouth of the lion after having passed through its body.
Its formal beauty reveals the distinguished style of the Goryeo celadon incense burners. This type of celadon, shaped after beneficent creatures, was popular around the early twelfth century, the apex of the Goryeo porcelain with a celadon glaze. Especially, lion-shaped incense burners of the Goryeo were highly prized in the Chinese Sung Dynasty.
