Sejong Şehri, Güney Kore'nin fiilen ikinci başkentidir. 2007 yılının başlarında Güney Kore hükümeti dokuz bakanlığın ve Seoul'de ki dört ulusal ajansın taşınmasına ayrıca Chungcheongnam ve Chungcheongbuk Eyaletleriyle Daejeon'un yakının da bir özel idari bölge oluşturulmasına karar verdi. Yeni başkent 2015 yılına kadar 36 devlet kurumunu bünyesine katma hedefiyle 2 Temmuz 2012 tarihinde açıldı.
Sejong Tarihi
Sejong Şehri, Chungcheongnam Eyaletinin merkezi iç bölgesinde yer alıp güney - kuzey yönünde uzanmaktadır. Eski çağlardan beri şehrin alanları olarak bilinen Charyeong Dağı ve Geum Nehri, Jeoneui, Yeongi ve Geumnam olarak ayrılmıştır. Fakat son yıllarda yaşanan gelişmeler ile bu alanlar iç içe kombine edilmiştir.

Şehirde şuan 1 nahiye, 9 bucak, 14 semt bulunmaktadır. Sınırın da Cheongju Şehri, doğusun da Chungcheongbuk Eyaleti, batısın da Gongju Şehri ve Chungcheongnam Eyaleti, güneyinde Daejeon Metropol Şehri ve kuzeyinde Cheonan Şehri yer almaktadır.

In early 2007, the South Korean government created a special administrative district from parts of Chungcheongnam-do and Chungcheongbuk-do provinces, near Daejeon, to relocate nine ministries and four national agencies from Seoul. The new capital opened on 2 July 2012, with 36 government agencies slated to move there by 2015.
History of Sejong
Sejong City is located in the central inner area of Chungcheongnam-do, and stretches south-north. Consequently, from ancient times, the current city areas were divided by the Charyeong Mountains and the Geum River into parts of Jeoneui, Yeongi, and Geumnam. But, with the development of streets in recent decades, those areas were combined into one.

Currently, the city has 1 eup, 9 myeons, and 14 dongs. It borders Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do to the east, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do to the west, Daejeon Metropolitan City to the south, and Cheonan-si to the north.

The slogan launches Sejong as the administrative capital of Korea. From the term Sejong, the city reminds us of the honorable King Sejong. This slogan develops distinguished images of Sejong and the dignity of the city.
