Merkez bankasının Cuma günkü verilerine göre, Güney Kore ekonomisi ilk çeyrekte ihracat, inşaat ve tesis yatırımlarındaki artış nedeniyle üç ay öncesinden beklenenden daha hızlı büyüdü.
Kore Merkez Bankası (KMB) ön verilere göre, ülkenin gayri safi yurtiçi hasılası (GSYİH), Ocak-Mart döneminde bir önceki çeyreğe göre yüzde 1.1 artarak üç ay önceye göre yüzde 0.5'lik bir artış sağladı.
En son okunan veriler, Nisan ayının sonlarında % 0.9'luk bir genişleme beklentisinin hafif bir artış kaydettiğini gösteriyor.
Bir önceki çeyrekteki yıllık 2.4'lik bir büyümeye kıyasen, yerel ekonomi birinci çeyrekte bir yıl öncesine göre % 2.9 oranında büyüdü.
İnşaat yatırımları, ilk çeyrekte üç ay öncesine göre yüzde 6.8, tesis yatırımları ise yüzde 4.4 arttı ve yarı iletken imalat ekipmanı gibi makine yatırımlarında artış oldu.
KMB, tüketici harcamalarının ilk çeyrekte üç ay öncesine göre yüzde 0.4 oranında arttığını ve ihracatın aynı dönemde yüzde 2.1 oranında arttığını söyledi.
Öte yandan KMB, ülkenin gayri safi milli gelirinin ticaret şartlarının iyileşmesiyle ilk çeyrekte bir önceki çeyreğe göre yüzde 2.7 oranında arttığını söyledi.

South Korea's economy grew at a faster-than-expected pace in the first quarter from three months earlier on increased exports, construction and facility investments, central bank data showed Friday.
The country's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded 1.1 percent in the January-March period from the previous quarter, accelerating from a 0.5 percent on-quarter expansion three month earlier, according to preliminary data from the Bank of Korea (BOK).
The latest reading marks a slight increase from an earlier estimate of a 0.9 percent expansion in late April.
From a year earlier, the local economy grew 2.9 percent in the first quarter, compared with a 2.4 percent on-year expansion in the previous quarter.
Construction investment rose 6.8 percent in the first quarter from three months earlier and facility investment increased 4.4 percent, led by the growth of investment in machinery, such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
The BOK said consumer spending grew 0.4 percent in the first quarter from three months earlier, while exports increased 2.1 percent during the same period.
Meanwhile, the BOK said the country's real gross national income expanded 2.7 percent in the first quarter from a quarter earlier due to improved terms of trade.
