Chungcheongbuk-do(Kuzey Chungcheong) Güney Kore merkezinde bulunan bir eyalettir.1896'da önceki Chungcheong vilayetinin kuzeydoğu yarısından oluşturuldu.Eyalete ait başkent, Cheongju'dur.

Yıllık ortalama sıcaklık 10℃- 12℃'dir , yıllık ortalama yağış miktarı 1,100mm-1,300mm' dir ve ılıman iklim vardır.

Cografyası
Kuzey Chungcheongbuk eyaleti, Hoseo bölgesinin bir parçasıdır. Batıda Chungcheongnam eyaleti, kuzeyde Gyeonggi ve Gangwon eyaletleri, güneyde Jeollabuk eyaleti ve doğuda Gyeongsangbuk eyaleti ile sınırdır. Kuzey Chungcheongbuk eyaleti, Güney Kore'de kara ile çevrili tek eyalettir. Eyalet çoğunlukla daglıktır. Kuzeyde Noryeong dağları, doğuda Sobaek dağları ile çevrilidir.

Kaynakları
Tarımsal ürün olarak pirinç, arpa, fasulye ve patates üretilmektedir. Eyalet, ginseng ve tütünde uzmanlaşmıştır. Tütün, 1912'de Amerika'ya tanıtılmıştır ve Virginia'ya nakledilmiştir.

Altın, kömür, demir, sabuntaşı, florit ve molibden maden rezervleri vardır. Eyaletin kuzey parçasında mermer ve kireçtaşı çıkarılmaktadır. İpek dokuma da önemli bir kaynaktır.

Turistik Yerler
Eyaletteki ana çekici yerler, Sobaek dağlarında (1.058 m) Songni Dağı ve ulusal parkıdır. Kore'nin en eski tapınağı olan Bonjup Tapınağı (Bonjup-sa) bu ulusal parktadır. Guin Tapınağı (Guin-sa) gibi bu tapınak da Cheontae Tarikatı'nın merkezidir. Worak Dağı'nın etrafında başka bir ulusal park da vardır.

Chungcheongbuk-do (North Chungcheong) is a province in the centre of South Korea. It was formed in 1896 from the northeastern half of the former Chungcheong province. The provincial capital is Cheongju.

Geography
The province is part of the Hoseo region, and is bounded on the west by Chungcheongnam-do province, on the north by Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do provinces, on the south by Jeollabuk-do province, and on the east by Gyeongsangbuk-do. Chungcheongbuk-do is the only land-locked province in South Korea. The province is mostly mountainous, dominated by the Noryeong Mountains to the north and the Sobaek Mountaind to the east.

Resources
Agricultural products includes rice, barley, beans, and potatoes, but the province specializes in ginseng and tobacco. The tobacco was introduced from the US in 1912, transplanted from Virginia.

There are mineral reserves of gold, iron, coal, steatite, fluorite, and molybdenum, as well as marble and limestone in the northern part of the province. Silk weavin plays an important role.

Attractions
The main attractions in the province are Mount Songni (1,058 m) in the Sobaek mountains and its national park. Beopjusa, the site of one of the oldest temples of Korea is located in this national park, as in Guinsa, the headquarters of the Cheontae sect. There is another national park around Mount Worak.
