1 Subat 1989 -- Güney Kore, Macaristan ile diplomatik iliskiler kurmustur.

1 Subat 1989 -- Güney Kore, Kuzey Kore'den Incheon Limani üzerinden 20.000 ton kömür ithal etmistir. 1950-53 Kore savasindan sonra Kuzey Kore'den yapilan ilk ithalattir.

1 Subat 2000 -- Kabine organ bagisiyla ilgili bir yasal revizyonu onayladi.

1 Subat 2008 -- Seoul mahkemesi, A.B.D. özel sermaye sirketi Lone Star Funds'u 2003'te Korea Exchange Bank'in kredi karti birimindeki anlasmazliga neden olan devralma ile ilgili olarak borsada manipülasyondan suçlu buldu. February 1, 1989 -- South Korea, for the first time, imports 20,000 tons of coal from North Korea.

February 1, 2000 -- The Cabinet approves a legal revision on human organ transplants.

February 1, 2002 -- A group of 46 ruling and opposition party members submit a resolution to the National Assembly calling for the release of Robert Kim, a Korean-American who was serving a prison sentence in the United States on conviction of passing secret information to South Korea while serving as a U.S. naval intelligence officer. The 65-year-old was released on probation in July 2004 after serving seven years of his nine-year sentence.

February 1, 2008 -- A Seoul court finds the U.S. private equity firm Lone Star Funds guilty of stock manipulation in the controversial takeover of the credit card unit of the Korea Exchange Bank in 2003. KEB and its main shareholder, Lone Star, were fined 25 billion won (US$26.5 million) each.

February 2, 1968 -- The United States begins secret talks with North Korea to resolve the issue of Pyongyang's capture of the USS Pueblo.

The 906-ton U.S. spy ship was attacked and seized by the North on Jan. 23, 1968. One American sailor was killed in the assault and 82 others were captured and held prisoner for 11 months before they were freed. North Korea has yet to return the ship, which it displays along the Daedong River in Pyongyang for anti-American propaganda purposes.

February 2, 1981 -- Then South Korean President Chun Doo-hwan holds a summit with then U.S. President Ronald Reagan in Washington during which the U.S. promises to scrap a plan to withdraw its troops from South Korea.

February 2, 1992 -- South and North Korea agree on bilateral trade using their own flagged ships.

February 2, 2001 -- Prosecutors announce Daewoo Group engaged in about 41 trillion won worth of accounting fraud.
