Wonju TG Xers
Üniversiteden sonra Kim Wonju TG Xers'e katıldı. Kim döneminde 17.04 puan, 8.72 ribaunt, 2.24 sayı pası, 2.07 vuruş karşılama ortalamalarıyla en iyi çaylaklardan biri oldu. Ayrıca 2002-2003 lig döneminde takımına şampiyonluk kazandırmada yardım etti. 18.85 puan, 8.85 ribaunt ve 2.43 vuruş karşılama Kim'in ortalama puanıydı ve 2003-2004 sezonunda Ligin En Değerli Oyuncusu ödülünü kazandı. Fakat Xers Jeonju KCC Egis'e karşı kaybetti ve 2003-2004 yılı şampiyonluğunu kazanmayı başaramadı. Takımın kaybetmesine rağmen Xers 2004-2005 sezonunda şampiyonluğu kazandı ve Kim ilk kez tüm sezonun En Değerli Oyuncusu ödülünü kazandı.
Wonju Donbu Promy
Xers Dongbu Grup tarafından satın alındı ve Wonju Dongbu Promy için tekrardan organize edildi. Promy üçüncülüğü almış olmasına rağmen rövanş maçında Daegu Orions'a karşı kaybederek başarısız oldu. Gelecek yıl Kim yaralandı ve takıma katılamadı. Bu nedenle Promy 8. aşamada kalarak sezona katılamadı.
2007-2008 sezonunda Kim'in takımı Seoul Samsung Thunders takımını yenerek şampiyonluğu kazandı. Kim ikinci kez En Değerli Oyuncu ödülünü kazandı.

Career
Wonju TG Xers
After college, Kim joined the Wonju TG Xers. Kim had one of the best rookie recording averages with 17.04 points, 8.72 rebounds, 2.24 assists, and 2.07 shoot-blocks in the season. In addition, he helped the team win the championship keeping the goal in the post-season of the 2002-2003 league. Kim averaged 18.85 points, 8.85 rebounds, and 2.43 shoot-blocks and won the Most Valuable Player of the league in the 2003-2004 season. However, the Xers failed to win the championship of 2003-2004, losing to Jeonju KCC Egis. In spite of the team's loss, The Xers won the championship in the 2004-2005 season, and Kim won the Most Valuable Player of the post-season for the first time.
Wonju Donbu Promy
The Xers was taken over by Dongbu Group, was reorganized to Wonju Dongbu Promy. Though the Promy took third place, Promy failed in the playoff, losing to by Daegu Orions. The next year, Kim was injured and could not participate. Therefore, Promy failed to join the post-season, taking the eighth rank.
In the 2007-2008 season, his team won the championship by defeating Seoul Samsung Thunders. Kim won the Most Valuable Player for the second time.
