Nüfus (2014): 23.304
Kuzey Jeolla Eyaletinin 127 doğu enlemi ve 35 kuzey enleminde yer alan Jangsu-gun Jangsu-gun Geochang-gun ve Hamyang-gun sınırları ile Kuzey Jeolla ve Güney Gyeongsang Eyaleti arasında bir bölge konumundadır. Ayrıca güneyde Namweon-si ve Imsil-gun batıda Jinan-gun, kuzeyde ise Muju-gun ile komşudur. Jangsu-gun doğudan batıya 20km uzunlukta güneyden kuzeye 44km uzunluğundadır ve 533.64km ² lik bir alana sahiptir. Jangsu-gun ulaşımda kalkınma konusuna belli bir süre uzak kalmış bu nedenle de saf ve temiz şehir olarak kirlenmemiş korunmuştur.

Located at the north of North Jeolla Province, Long 127 E, Lat 35 N, Jangsu-gun borders Geochang-gun and Hamyang-gun, South Gyeongsang Province on the east, forming a boundary between North Jeolla Province and South Gyeongsang Province. It is also bounded with Namweon-si on the south, Imsil-gun and Jinan-gun on the west, and Muju-gun on the north. Jangsu-gun is 44km long from east to west and 20km long from south to north and has an area of 533.64km². Jangsu-Gun has been for a long time estranged from transportation development therefore it was preserved unpolluted as the cleanest and purest city.

Upyeonghyeon ve Baekhaegun olarak isimlendirildi.
Shilla Dönemi
Upyeonghyeon ismi, Kral Gyeongdeok 16. yılında Byeokgyegun için Gotaekhyeon ve Baekhaegun olarak değiştirdi.
Koryo Dönemi
Gotaekhyeon ism, Kral Taejo'nun 23. yılında Byeokgyehyeon için Jangcheonhyeon ve Byeokgyegun olarak değiştirdi.
Joseon Dönemi
Jangcheonhyeon ismi, Kral Taejo'nun saltanatının 1. yılında Jangsuhyeon olarak değiştirdi.
Modern Dönem (1895)
Jangsuhyeon ismi Kral Gojong'un 32 yılında Jangsugun olarak değiştirdi.
Çağdaş Dönem (1979)
Jangsu-myeon eup seviyesine yükseltilmiştir.

Called Upyeonghyeon and Baekhaegun.
Shilla Period
Upyeonghyeon was renamed to Gotaekhyeon and Baekhaegun to Byeokgyegun in the 16th year of King Gyeongdeok.
Koryo Period
Gotaekhyeon was renamed to Jangcheonhyeon and Byeokgyegun to Byeokgyehyeon in the 23rd year of King Taejo.
Joseon Period
Jangcheonhyeon was renamed to Jangsuhyeon in the1st year of King Taejo.
Modern Times
Jangsuhyeon was renamed to Jangsugun on the 32nd year of King Gojong.
Contemporary (1979)
Jangsu-myeon was raised to the level of eup. Gyenae-myeon was renamed to Janggye-myeon.

The symbol mark of Jangsu express the firm will of Jangsu residents,
which has been handed down from generation to generation from ancient
times, with the background of scenic beauty of Jangsu.Expressing the traditional values and nature of Jangsu through modern images, the symbol mark symbolizes the vision of residents for Jangsu as a future pleasant recreation center.
A personifcation of apple, Saguarang, is the mascot for the advertising of Jangsu-produced apples, acting for public information mission at local events or an information adviser for the local administration.
Designed with the motif of Nongae, a symbolic woman of fidelity, the character of Nongae expresses the image of devoted and elegant as well as dynamic and progressive woman through its facial expression.
