Imsil Kuzey Joella eyaletinde, Jeonju'nun güneyinden araba ya da otobüsle yaklaşık 30 dakika mesafede, Kore'ye özgü yerel imsil peynir'inin üretildiği küçük bir ilçedir. Ve bir de çok önemli kent , dağ ve tabiat güzellikleriyle kuşatılmıştır.
Imsil Peynir Köyü
Imsil peyiniri adını üretildiği bu bölgeden alır.Bu bölgeye çocuklara ve turistlere peynir yapımını öğretmek için turistik turlar düzenlenir.
Kore'nin ünlü bir pizza zinciri de Imsil peynirini kullandığı pizzasıyla çok önemli bir konuma gelmiştir.Bu pizzanın adı Imsil peyniri pizzası dır.
Bu peynir 1950’ler de bölgeye gelip Ji Junghwan adını alan Belçikalı bir keşişten bölgeye miras kalmıştır. Bu keşiş Kore ekonomisinin savaş sonrası sarsılmış ortamında Imsil Süt Kooperatifini kurmuş daha sonra bu kooperatif Imsil Peynir Fabrikası adını almıştır. Bu fabrika halen mevcuttur ve Kore piyasasası için yüksek kalitede yoğurt ve peynir üretmeye devam etmektedir.
Bir gurup girişimci peynir üreticisi, peynirli pizza yapmaya karar vermiştir ve adı geçen bu pizza markası Ji Junghwan’s Imsil Cheese Pizza (Ji Junghwan’s Imsil Peynir Pizza ya da Pizza’sı) Kore’nin en bilinen ve popüler markalarından biri haline gelmiştir. Pizza kutularının üzerinde adı geçen keşişin resmi vardır ve bu da O’nu dünyada muhtemelen ardında bir pizza marketler zincirini miras bırakan yegane keşiş yapar.

Imsil is a county in North Jeolla Province, Republic of Korea, approximately 30 minutes south of Jeonju by car or bus, where purely domestic Korean cheese was first produced. Imsil County encompasses several important towns, mountains, and natural areas.
Imsil Cheese Village
Imsil Cheese Village is located near the town of Imsil (within the county of Imsil). It offers a one day or more vacation program for children and tourists to learn how to ferment cheese.
The cheese is called Imsil cheese, following the county name. A pizza franchise using Imsil cheese has become a widespread business in South Korea since 2004, under the name of Imsil Cheese Pizza.[1] Nearby livestock farms produce dairy products required for the manufacture of the cheese.
Imsil cheese is the unusual mission legacy of a Catholic priest from Belgium who took the Korean name of Ji Junghwan. He arrived in the farming village of Imsil, in the mid-1950s, when the economy was still shattered from the Korean war. He started a farmers’ milk cooperative. This cooperative eventually became the Imsil Cheese Factory, which exists today and produces high quality cheese and yogurt for the Korean market.
A group of enterprising cheese manufacturers decided to branch out into making cheese pizza. In time, Ji Junghwan’s Imsil Cheese Pizza became one of the most popular brands, and today it can be found throughout Korea. Pictured on every box is the Belgian missionary priest, probably the only missionary in the world to have left a pizza chain as part of his legacy.
Very rural, bus runs every hour and stop at 8pm. It is best not to get stranded past 8pm. You can take the Shi-Hae intercity bus terminal in Jeonju and hop on an imsil bus. Fares differs from district to district. Kang-jin District cost 4800won, while the rest of imsil cost about 3800won. Imsil is known for its natural Scenery. Come to Duckchi elementary school during the month of May to see cherry blossoms. To get there take the Kangjin bus, and take taxi cab by saying "Duck-chi Cho deung hagkyo ka juseyo". (5000 won). There is a university in Imsil called "Yewon Arts University" people go there to study arts, dance and other activities.
It has 14 elementary schools, and there is an english village.
