Hoengseong ilçesi, Güney Kore'nin Gangwon Eyaletinin bir ilçesidir.
Kaput çalı çiçeği türü olan Codonopsis lanceolata'nın kökü (Korece: deodeok) yerel tarımda önemli bir rol oynamaktadır.
Kayda değer bir yatılı okul olan Kore Minjok Liderlik Akademisi, bu ilçede bulunmaktadır.

Nüfus
İlçenin sakinleri ve yetkilileri arasında nüfus düşüşü en büyük konudur. Bir yıl içinde yeni kabul edilen öğrencisi sayısında 100 kadarlık bir düşüş oldu.
Bu şaşırtıcı gerileme eğitim sisteminde küçük okulların yüzde onunu kapanmaya mecbur bıraktı. Hoengseong ilçesi resmi olarak genç öğrencileri eğitim ücretleri konusunda desteklediğini açıkladı.

Kore Sığır Eti
Hoengseong’da bulunan Han-u veya Kore sığır eti, Güney Kore’de ünlüdür ve yaygın olarak satılmaktadır. Bölgenin temiz ortamı, yüksek kaliteli Kore sığır eti yetiştirmeyi mümkün kılmaktadır. Sığırların kasları, otlaklarda emek yoluyla kuvvetlendirilir. Belirlenmiş sığır etleri, Seul’daki ve diğer büyük şehirlerdeki satış noktalarına gönderilir. Günümüzde, ulaşım altyapısının iyileştirilmesi maliyeti azaltmaya yarar sağlamıştır. İlçe kendisini Kore’deki en kaliteli sığır eti kökeninin markası olarak tanıtmak adına 1995 yılında stratejik bir satış kampanyası başlatmıştır.

Rekreasyon Alanları
Konumu sayesinde Hoengseong bölgesi geniş ormanlık alanlara sahiptir. Dörtten fazla orman işletmesi hâlâ çalışmaktadır. Bütün ormanlar yalnızca doğal ormanlardan ibaret değildir. Yapay ormanlar mevcut doğal ormanlarla harmanlanmıştır. Kara geyik, yaban domuzu ve tavşanların olduğu her tür vahşi hayat ormanda yaşamaktadır.

Rüzgâr Çiftlikleri
Rüzgar çiftliklerini kurma planları 2005’de başladı ve yatırımcıların Ocak 2008’de ilk kompleksin inşasının tamamlanmasına izin verildi. Hoengseong 2009’dan sonra rüzgâr enerji santrallerini kurdu. İnşaat, Japon mühendis Eurus Energy ve POSCO tarafından planlandı ve yapıldı, rüzgâr alanı civarında 20 tesis kuruldu. Tüm tesis yerleri sırayla Hoengseong ve Pyeongchang ilçeleri arasında bölünmüştür.

Hoengseong County is a county in Gangwon Province, South Korea.
The roots of Codonopsis lanceolata (Korean: deodeok), a bonnet bellflower species, play an important role in local agriculture.
Korean Minjok Leadership Academy, a notable boarding school, is located in the county.

Population
Decline of population is the biggest matter among the county's residents and officers. In one year, newly admitted elementary school students decreased by 100.
The staggering decline has forced the educational system to close small schools of less than ten per school. Hoengseong county officially declared to support education fees to young students.

Korean Beef
Han-u, or Korean beef, from Hoengseong is widely sold and famous in South Korea. The clean environment of the region makes it possible to rear high-quality Korean beef. The muscles of the cattle are built up through labour in the fields. Beef sets are delivered to department stores in Seoul and other metropolitan cities. Nowadays, improvements to transportation infrastructure have helped reduce the cost. The county began a strategic marketing campaign in 1995 to brand itself as the origin of the highest quality beef in Korea.

Recreational Areas
The Hoengseong area features large forested areas thanks to its location. More than four forest resorts are still in operation.
Whole forests do not consist of only natural forests. Man-made forests are blended into existing natural forests. All kinds of wildlife, including roe deer, wild pigs, and rabbits, inhabit the forest.

Wind Farms
Schemes for building wind farms started in 2005 and allowed investors to complete the construction of a first complex in January 2008.
Hoengseong did install wind power plants after 2009. Construction was planned and executed by Japanese developer Eurus Energy and POSCO, installing about 20 plants around windy area. Total plant locations were divided between the counties of Hoengseong and Pyeongchang , respectively.
