Gonggi / 공기

Gonggi, geleneksel olarak 5 veya daha fazla küçük üzüm tanesi boyutundaki çakıl ile oynanan popüler bir çocuk oyunudur. Günümüzde çocuklar çakıl bulmak yerine renkli plastik taşlar almaktadırlar. Tek veya arkadaşlarla oynanabilir. Taşlara, 'gonggi taşları' anlamına gelen gonggitdol (공깃돌) adı verilir. Oyun için yalnızca birkaç taş ve düz bir zemin gerektiğinden bu oyun herkes tarafından hemen her yerde oynanabilir.

Oynanışı:

Oyun genelde her bir oyuncunun taşları avuçlarından havaya atmasıyla başlar. Havadayken oyuncular ellerini ters çevirir. Gonggi taşları elin tersiyle tutulur. En fazla taşı tutan ilk önce oynar.

1. Seviye: Taşlar zemine atılır ve oyuncu havaya atmak üzere bir taş seçer. Havadayken zemindeki bir taşı alır. Daha sonra attığı taşı yakalar. Bu adım, tüm taşlar tutulana dek tekrarlanır.
2. Seviye: Taşlar tekrar zemine atılır. Fakat bu kez tek seferde 2 taş yerden alınır.
3. Seviye: Taşlar zemine atılır. Önce 3'lü grup yerden alınır ve daha sonra kalan tek taş alınır.
4. Seviye: Oyuncu bir taşı havaya atar, diğerlerini zemine bırakır ve havadaki taşı yakalar. Taşı tekrar havaya atıp zemindeki 4 taşı birden alır. Sonra havadaki taşı yakalar.
5. Seviye: Oyuncu taşları avucuna alıp havaya atar. Havadayken ellerini ters çevirir. Elinin tersiyle taşları yakalar. Sonra taşları havaya atıp elini tekrar ters çevirip taşları yakalar. Yakalanan taş sayısı aldığı puanı gösterir.

Gonggi is a popular Korean children's game that is traditionally played using 5 or more small grape-sized pebbles. Nowadays, children buy colourful plastic stones instead of finding pebbles. It can be played alone or with friends. The stones are called gonggitdol (공깃돌), which means "gonggi stones." Since only a few stones and a flat surface are needed for play, the game can be played by anyone almost anywhere.

How to play:

The game generally begins with each player tossing the stones from the palm of their hand into the air. While airborne, the player switches his hand backside up. The gonggi stones are then caught on the back of the hand. The person with the leading amount plays first.

Level 1: The stones are thrown on the playing surface and the player picks a stone to throw up in the air. While airborne, the player picks up one stone on the playing surface. Then, the player catches the stone. These steps are repeated until all the stones have been caught.
Level 2: The stones are thrown on the playing surface again. However, at this level, the player picks up the stones two at a time.
Level 3: The stones are thrown on the playing surface. The stones are picked up once in a cluster of three, and the other in the amount of one.
Level 4: The player throws one stone in the air, places the others on the surface, and catches the airborne stone. Then the player picks up the four clustered stones on the playing surface. Then the player catches the airborne stone.
Level 5: The player tosses the stones from the palm of their hand in to the air. While airborne, the player switches his hand backside up. The stones are then caught on the back of the hand. Then, the player throws the stones in the air and catches them. The number of stones caught amount to the score.
