Gangwan-do, Kore Yarimadasi’nin orta dogu bölgesinde, eyalettir. Ana Taebaek siradaglari ve birkaç
küçük-büyük dallardan olusan daglar vardir. Dogusu denizi, batisi Seoul’u sinirlar. Diger bölgelerle güney tarafi ile sinirlidir.
Gangwon genelde daglik alanlara sahiptir.
Karalar deniz seviyesinin 100 metre yukarisindadir.
Büyük düz alani yoktur. Bazi önemli dar kiyi ovalari vardir (Sokcho, Gangneung, Donhae).
Muson iklimi görülür. 4 mevsim görülmektedir. Özellikle kis sporlari yaygindir. Gangwon’a –özellikle daglara- kisin çok kar yagar. Bu yüzden kayakçilar için iyi bir yerdir.
Eyalet Taebaek Daglari iç bölgesi, deniz kenari bölgesi ve daglik bölgesi olmak üzere üç bölgeye ayirmistir.

Gangwon’da turistlerin ilgisini çeken bir çok dag vardir. Birkaç ulusal ve ile ait parklar bu daglarin çevresindedir.

Gangwan-do, Korea Peninsula in the central eastern region, the state is. main and a few small-Taebaek mountain mountains are composed of large branches. East of the sea, west of Seoul, the borders.
