Gangdong-gu (Kelimenin tam anlamıyla: nehirin doğusundaki semt), Seoul’ü oluşturan 25 semtten biridir. Seoul’ün güneydoğu kesiminde yer almaktadır. Han Nehri aracılığıyla kuzeyde Gyeonggi’deki Guri Şehri’ne, Cheonho köprüsü ile batıda Gwangjin semtine bitişiktir. Ayrıca doğuda Gyeonggi’deki Hanam şehrine, güneyde ise Gangdongdaero ile Seongpa semtine bitişiktir.

Gangdong’un alanı Seoul’ün toplam alanının %4.1’idir. 21 semte (dong) ayrılır.

Gangdong-gu is located in the southeastern part of Seoul. It is adjoined to Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do in the north via Hangang(River), and to Gwangjin-gu in the west via Cheonhodaegyo. It is also next to Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do in the east, and to Songpa-gu in the south via Gangdongdaero.

The area of Gangdong-gu is 4.1% of the total area of Seoul, 24.58 km2. It is divided into 21 administrative districts (Dong).
