Gangdong-gu (literally "district east of the river") is one of the 25 gu which make up the city of Seoul, South Korea. It is located on the east side of the city.

Jungbu(literally "Central Part") Express Motorway starts in and passes through Sangil-dong, which is located in the east end of this district. In Amsa-dong, there is a Pre-historic heritage site which is about six thousands years old. At this site, there are many kinds of pottery and houses. The pottery which has been found was made of ceramic and is circular and shaped into a point similar to corn.

The mayor of this district is Haesik LEE(이해식), who in June 2008 was elected as the short-term mayor until 2010.

Güneş simge genel olarak gündoğumu ile başlayan hayati simgeler. İlerici ve çalışkan hakli simgeleyen yaklaşık 6000 yıl önce yaşanan tarihten esinlenerek yaratılmıştır.

The symbol was created by giving the form to the mud hut of the prehistoric era
6,000 years ago to give images of Gangdong-gu with the sunrise with progressive
and active color, red. The six symbolizes the history of 6,000 years.

2 su dalgası Han Nehri’nin ruhunu simgeler. Han Nehri’nin kendilerine yüz yıllardır yasam alanı sunmasından dolayı Han Nehri bölgede büyük bir önem taşır.

The Han River where two water streams of North and South Han River meet was
symbolized in the formation of the spirit to embark on clear Gangdong, which is the
first entrance of the Han River, the main artery of Korea.


Yeşil doğa halk için huzuru,mutluluğu simgeler.

Gangdong-gu located in the Han riverside is a land of living with the residents formed
since the prehistoric era. Green nature was created in the formation of thatched roof,
our traditional residential formation, expressing peaceful, rural, and green
Gangdong-gu.

As a bird that wakes up early in the morning, it symbolizes the image of
Gangdong with the sunrise.

Bu ağaç her zaman yeşil olan ve oldukça yaygın bir ağaçtır. Bölgenin simgesi haline gelmiştir. Bölgenin kuvvetini, gücünü simgeler.

Cone Pine
As a wild tree that is always green, it symbolizes green Gangdong-gu with great
sceneries of the east and clear air.
