Brown Eyed Girls
Son Ga-In, popüler Güney Kore reality serilerinden Let's Coke Play! Battle Shinhwa seçimleri sırasında elendi ve Brown Eyed Girls üyeleri tarafından fark edildi. Ga-In'e göre, o besteci Ahn Jung Hoon tarafından başvurduğu seçmelerde başarısız olunca banyoda ağlıyordu ve Brown Eyed Girls şirketine seçmelere davet edildi, sonunda gruba katıldı. 4Tomorrow
Ekim 2009'da, KARA'dan Seungyeon, After School'dan UEE ve 4Minute'den Hyuna ile birlikte 4Tomorrow denilen Samsung için Dream Team projesine katıldı. Her kız müzik dünyasına hakim olan K-Pop Kız gruplarındandı. Birlikte, "Tomorrow" adlı bir CF/MV ile Samsung'un Anycall kampanyası için hayali bir kız grubu olarak "çıkış" yaptı. Grubun sadece son iki ayı kaldığı hesaplansa da, altı tane müzik draması yayınladı.
Solo çalışmalar
2006'da, Ga-In, SG Wannabe'nin lideri Kim Yong Jun ile "Must Have Love" adlı şarkıyı yayınladı.
Ekim 2010'da, Ga-In solo faaliyetlerine başladı, tango müzik ile Step 2/4 albümünü çıkardı ve baş parça 'Irreversible' oldu. 31 Ekim'de, Inkigayo'da (Mutizen song) kazandı.

Brown Eyed Girls'ün dördüncü albümünün promosyonlarından sonra, Ga-In'in, onun solo ve oyunculuk kariyerini yönetmesi için Loen Entertainment ile sözleşme imzaladığı ortaya çıktı. Loen Entertainment'deki resmi yetkiliye göre, "O grup faaliyetlerine şu anki şirketi, Nega Network ile devam edecek." Brown Eyed Girls
Son Ga-In was noticed by the existing members of Brown Eyed Girls after she was eliminated during auditions for the popular South Korean reality series Let's Coke Play! Battle Shinhwa!. According to Ga-In, she was crying in the bathroom following her failed audition when she was approached by composer Ahn Jung Hoon, and was invited to audition at Brown Eyed Girls' company, eventually joining the group. The four members performed several small shows under the name "Crescendo" before officially debuting as Brown Eyed Girls in 2006.
4Tomorrow
In October 2009, Ga-In was placed in the Dream Team project group for Samsung called 4Tomorrow along with KARA's Seungyeon, After School's UEE and 4Minute's HyunA. Each girl is from the top K-Pop Girl groups that dominated the music scene at the time. Together, they "debuted" as a fictitious girl group for Samsung's Anycall campaign with a CF/MV called "Tomorrow". Although, the group was only scheduled to last two months, they released six music dramas.
Solo work
In 2006, Ga-In did a collaboration single called "Must Have Love" with SG Wannabe's leader Kim Yong Jun.
In October 2010, Gain started her solo activities through her album Step 2/4 with tango music and 'Irreversible' as the title track. On October 31, she clutched her win (Mutizen song) in Inkigayo.
She also released digital single "We Fell in Love" (우리 사랑하게 됐어요), composed by Jea, with then We Got Married partner 2AM Jo Kwon. The song was voted #1 in several music programs in January, 2010
After the promotions of Brown Eyed Girls' fourth album, it was revealed that Ga-In had signed a contract with Loen Entertainment, who will manage her future solo and acting career. According to an official at Loen Entertainment, "She will continue with her group activities under her current firm, Nega Network, which is a collaborative label with Loen. The official has assured that this will not hinder her group activities in any way and Loen will solely be responsible for her solo releases.
At midnight of April 22 KST, JYP and Ga-In released a duet track titled, ”Someone Else". This is the first song JYP released in about two years.
On October 5 KST, Ga-In released her second album Talk about S featuring title track "Bloom." The mini-album contains five tracks.
In April 13, 2013, she was featured in PSY's music video "Gentleman", along with the "arrogant" dance popularized in the Brown Eyed Girls song "Abracadabra".
