Boeun-İlçe Chungcheongbuk eyaletinin orta güneyinde yer alır ve eyaletteki 3 il ve 9 ilçeden biridir. Sobaeksanmaek Dağları ve Noryeongsanmaek Dağları arasında bulunan tipik bir havzadır. Cheonggyecheon (Akarsu), eyaletin kuzey batı bölgesinden doğup,ilin kalbi Boeun-ilçesinden geçiyor.Sonunda; Hapgeum-ri, Cheongseong-myeon, Okcheon-gun Geumgang'dan geçip ters S şeklinde birleşiyor. Eyaletin Bocheongcheon akarsuyu çevresinde zengin tahıl içeren ilçesidir.

Boeun-County is located in the middle south of Chungcheongbuk-do and is one of the administrative districts in the province, 3 cities and 9 guns. It is a typical basin located in between the steep ranges of Sobaeksanmaek (Mts.) and Noryeongsanmaek (Mts.). Bocheongcheon (Stream), originating from the north west region of the province, runs through Boeun-district, the heart of the province. It finally merges into the main stream of Geumgang (River) at Hapgeum-ri, Cheongseong-myeon, Okcheon-gun with forming a reverse S shape. The surrounding area of Bocheongcheon (Stream) is the richest grain district in the County.

Şehrin Çiçeği: Forsythia (Hor Çiçeği)
Forsythia eski çağlardan beri barışı simgeleyen bir çiçek olmuştur. Bu yüzden ilçe sakinleri tarafından sevilir ve ilçe genelinde dağıtılır.
Şehrin Ağacı: Hünnap Ağacı/Jujube
Jujube uzun bir süre köy insanlar için özel Boeun ürünü ve gelir kaynağı olmuştur. ' Jujube ballad’ adında bir türkü vardır.
Şehrin Kuşu: Saksağan/Magpie
Saksağan iyi haber ileten şanslı kuş olarak kabul edilir ve halk tarafından sevilen bir kuştur. Bölgenin her yerinde bulunur.

The flag is the formal symbol representing the image of Boeun. The design of it is the combination of symbol mark and logo of Boeun. The tassel on flag edge is of gold color.

County Mark
It contains the spirits county residents pursue — spirit of liberty, spirit of challenge, spirit of equality, and spirit of hongikingan which means harmony and mutual benefits

It symbolizes Taegeuk, representing the spirit of expanding toward the outer space with the harmony of nature.

It means the sun, symbolizing bright and hopeful future.

It embodies a polite man, Boeun man who pursues clean and warm-hearted life in beautiful and clean nature.

It embodies water wave, representing Sampasu, the source of three rivers, Han, Geum, and Nakdong.

County Mascot
With the beginning of the 21st century, we made two characters — Jeongi and Songi, by personifying the Jeongeepumsong, the tree representing Boeun. The two characters reenforce the spread of messages in various publicity activities and projects. As subsidiary role, they give the image of warm and service-minded administration

Forsythia, flower of Boeun
Forsythia has been the flower symbolizing peace from old ages. It is loved by county residents, and is distributed across the county.
Jujube, tree of Boeun
Jujube has been the special product of Boeun and income source for village people for a long time. There is a folk song called 'Jujube ballad'.
Magpie, bird of Boeun
Magpie has been considered as lucky bird relaying good news, and loved by residents. It is ubiquitous across the county.

Tarihi

Boeun Üç Hans Çağında Mahan aitti.Üç krallık çağında ,yarımadanın orta kısmı Baekjae (Kore yarımadasının güneybatı kesiminde yer) tarafından işgal halindeydi ve Silla (yarımadanın Güneydoğu kesiminde yer alan) kuzeye topraklarını genişletiyordu, Boeun üç krallık arasında çatışma sınır bölgesi oldu .

Silla Hanedanı, Jabi maripgan küzeye ilerlemek için (kral) 13. yılında (MS 470) Samnyeonsan Seong (Samnyeon Dağı Kule Duvarı) kalesini inşa etti. Kral Jijung (MS 552) 3. yılında Samnyeonsan-gun bölgesini(şehir) Silla olarak adlandırdı.
Kral Jinheung'un 14 yılında (MS 552) Silla gücünü göstermek için Songnisan dağında Beopju tapınağını inşa etti.
Kral Seongdeok'un bu şehire 16. yılında (MS 757), tekradan Samnyeon-gun olarak adlandırdı.
Silla hanedanlığı çöktüğünde ve Koryeo Hanedanlığı topraklarını birleştirdiği zaman ilçe adı, daha geniş bir idari birim olan Sangju mok'a (1018) bağlı Boryeong-gun olarak değiştirilmiştir.
Joseon Hanedanlığı (1392 ~ 1910) zamanında Kral Taejong’un 16.yılında şehrin adı tekrar Boeun hyeon (İlçeden daha küçük bir birim) olarak değiştirildi.
Kral Taejong'un (1413) 16. yılında, Sangju mok dan Chungcheong iline bağlandı. Kral Gojong'un (1895) 32. yılında olan bu durum bölgeyi ilçeye yükseltti.
1919 da Japon İşgali dönemi (1910-1945) sırasında Boeun, komşusu olan iki ilçeyi Hwoein gun ve Daedeok gun'u, önemli 10 semti ve daha küçük idari birimleri işgal etmiştir.

Backjae hanedanlığına ait olduğu zaman The Hwoein ilçesi Migok hyeon diye adlandırılmıştı. Adını Birleşik Silla döneminde Kral Gyeongdeok 'un yıllarında Maegok olarak değiştirilmiştir ve Yeonsangun adında bir prens ait yapılmıştır.İlk önce Koryeo hanedanı, adı Hoein olarak değiştirmiştir. Sonra Kral Hyeonjong'un (1018) 9. yılında Cheongju mok'un parçası olmak için geldi ve sonra Hoedeok iline bağlı hale geldi. Kral Woo (1383) 9. yılında kendisi köy oldu. Joseon Hanedanlığı zamanında Kral Taejong'un (1413) 13. yılında ilçe olarak değiştirildi ve Kral Gojong'un 32. yılında şehire yükseltildi.

Boeun belonged to Mahan in the Three Hans Age. But, in the Three Kingdoms Age,as Baekjae (located in the southwestern part of the Korean peninsula) occupied the central part of the peninsula, and Silla (Located in the Southeastern part of the peninsula) was expanding its territory to the north, Boeun became the conflicting border area among three kingdoms.
The Silla dynasty constructed the Samnyeonsan Seong (Samnyeon Mountain Fortress Wall) in the 13th year of maripgan (king) Jabi (AD 470) as its stronghold for its expansion to the north. In the 3rd year of king Jijeung (AD 552), Silla named the area Samnyeonsan gun (county). And, in the 14th year of king Jingheung (AD 552), Silla constructed the Beopjusa temple, in Songnisan mountain to demonstrate its power. The county is renamed to Samnyeon gun in the 16th year of king Gyeongdeok (AD 757).
When the Silla dynasty collapsed and the Koryeo dynasty unified the peninsula again, the county name was changed into Boryeong gun, which belonged to a larger administrative unit, Sangju mok (1018).
In the Joseon dynasty (1392~1910), the county was renamed as Boeun hyeon (a smaller unit than gun) in the 16th year of king Taejong (1416), and the hyeon head was sent from the central government.
In the 16th year of King Taejong (1413), the county was made to belong to Chungcheong province from Sangjoo mok. Its status was raised from hyeon to gun in the 32nd year of king Gojong (1895).
In 1914, during the Japanese Occupation period (1910-1945), Boeun was made to annex parts of neighboring two counties, Hwoein gun and Daedeok gun, leading to have 10 myeons, smaller administrative units.
The Hwoein county was called Migok hyeon when it belonged to the Backjae dynasty. Its name was changed into Maegok in the king Gyeongdeok years of the Unified Silla era, and was made to belong to a prince called Yeonsangun. In the early Koryeo dynasty, its name was changed into Hoein. Then, it came to be part of Cheongju mok in the 9th year of king Hyeonjong (1018), and, later, came under Hoedeok gammu (county head). In the 9th year of king Woo (1383), it was arranged to have its own gammu. In the Joseon dynasty, in the 13th year of king Taejong (1413), it was changed into hyeon, and raised up into gun in the 32nd year of king Gojong.
