Introduction:

Sorae is a fishing port in Incheon that despite its proximity to the metropolitan area still has the atmosphere of an old fishing village. The Incheon Soraepogu Festival has become so popular that it is now a national event, which many tourists flock to. During the festival, the roads in the area are closed to vehicles and various exciting events are held. Fresh fish caught in Sorae and fishing tools are exhibited. The traditional market sells fresh seafood at affordable prices. A live concert is held in Jangdo Podaeji fort, which is open to the public during the festival.

Visitors can also watch traditional Korean ceremonies, which pray for a bountiful catch. The festival is well known for its large number of hands-on activity programs, which bring tourists and local residents together.
